Hello Claire, thanks for the compliment, no weed block cloth and it is not appropriate with a ground cover that spreads since it would block the ground cover roots from spreading! One just has to deal with the weeds unfortunately until the ground cover, in this case, Dymondia fills in. And as you can see from the other photos, it filled in densely and as a result smothered most weeds, but weeds do pop up here and there. On a positive note, Dymondia is very drought tolerant therefore requires less irrigation compared to traditional lawn, so less water results in fewer weeds too. I hope that helps.
