Different parts of the garden are shaded throughout the growing season

I just bought a house in February in southern Oregon. I am looking to put in some garden beds but need advice on where to put them. I have a long yard facing west. During the beginning of the growing season the left side of the yard gets sun almost all day. Our growing season goes into the begining of september. As the season goes on and the position of the earth changes, toward the end of the growing season the right side of the yard begins to get more sun than the left. The back of the yard by the fence is almost always shaded. My question is, is it better to put the planter beds on the left side, that is more sunny while the plants are younger or better to have them get more sun while the plants are mature? I enjoy planting tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, and sometimes zucchini and cucumbers depending on how much space I've got to work with. Any information would be much appreciated!
