Hi, In need of some kitchen layout advice please

Hi, we recently moved into a property and are now stuck on how to revamp the kitchen/dinning area (first world problem I know). We had contemplated swapping the kitchen and dinning room around however the current kitchen space is quite small for a dining room. We had also considered removing a small corridor area however that will mean the under stairs toilet comes directly off the kitchen. I had intended to turn the conservatory into a orangery but the budget isn’t going to allow that so it is staying as it for the time being! The only certain is that we are changing the position of the door which goes from the Lounge into the dinning room (this is in a very inconvenient place in the lounge). Sorry for the long winded message but are desperately looking for any advice on where we could position our kitchen. Thank you

Hi Georgina - According to your mobile screen shot, I'm guessing you're in the UK. There are lots of terrific people on here willing to give of their free time and expertise. That said, you'll get the best advice and more advice if you:

    1. Convert your measurements to feet/inches, and

    2. Post photos of your existing space

I'd never heard of an orangery before. I had to Google it. How very British! :-)

Having a powder room open off a kitchen or dining room is not an attractive feature, although it is not so very rare, either. If your budget allows relocating plumbing, you might consider turning the powder room 90° so that the door is off the lounge. That would add space to the kitchen that is more useful than space outside a powder room would be, and would be more convenient for guests.
