IMO without a sample how do you even know if it works in your space.

Were I selling an expensive slab, I'd saw off a small corner to make the sale.

None of the yards we’ve been to would give us a sample. And it’s a gut renovation of a kitchen so no existing finishes to match- we took a sample cabinet door and our kitchen tile to the different yards.

Ask the yards for info re: fabricators who have purchased slabs from the same lot, seek "waste" sample from them.
