rocks instead of wood

I just have a question, I just recently purchased a fire pit for my backyard and I wanted to know if I could use rocks that burn as opposed to gore wood?

Yes you can use rock versus wood force fire pit. In this image we used crushed glass over lava stone and is gas burning. In California, where we are, wood burning fire pits are prohibited.
