Why is there not a pool cover on this pool?

I am very interested in having a pool put on my 1 acre property. There is a lot of cottonwood trees along the river, I live on the east side of the river so I get a lot of Cottonwood. I don’t like the looks of a pool cover, but may be able to change my mind.
