I think the one posted by indianpatti is best. You don't want something with a tiny pattern, the horizontal lines in honed or textured finish like above is great with it. It doesn't not matter that your granite is cooler (rather than having coffee color in it) Definitely go to many tiles design centers and narrow your selections. You will learn a lot in the process. It is very hard, I am doing it now myself, You will know when you find the right one.

HI -- So charming ! I'm sorry but those cabinets really don't look like they are from the thirties . They look more sixties than anything . they look in amazing condition . Granite or quartz or even soapstone or zinc , would be fine for a counter top. For a backsplash a smaller tile would be appropriate like the honeycomb or penny round and even the subway tile perhaps in an antiqued finish in a grey or an off white .
