A Frame Ceiling Colors

Hi y’all!

Fiancé and I just bought a charming A frame. In love with it, but not digging the color of the ceiling as much. Not sure if it’s just me, but the dark feels like a lot.

I also just realized today, I may be feeling this way because the floors the previous owners put in don’t match the color of the ceiling at all. (So to my eye, it’s a lot of different brown shades).

I’ve seen white beams or (inversely) white wood and dark beams. Afraid to just start painting without any opinions though!! Any ideas or suggestions are welcome 🙏

The floor in the front room doesn't match the floor in the far room. Which do you like better? In general, it's good to spend money on enhancing the things you do like rather than the things you don't like.

In the meantime, you could tack or tape up some white shelf paper over the beams to see if you like the white ceiling look.

I would leave the beams and paint the ceiling.

The beam color works with the darkest parts of the floor, so I think painting the gold wood between the beams is best. You'll also need to paint the door trim and baseboards.
