Yep and its not just the shower the doorways needs to be wider the floor space needs to much bigger the toilet needs to be higher and grab bars everywhere I do not hink no curtain is a nice idea since the shower has to be big enought to have awheelchair manuever in it that makes for pretty big cold place to have a shower . To have no door or curtain means the whole room has to be a wet room since water will be everywhere so a nice drain in the middle of the bathroom floor works IMO get someone wha actually does ADA installs .

Don't worry about wheelchair in regards to showering.You should get a shower chair designed specifically for the task. Plus it can be used over a toilet. Google “shower chair”. The prices aren't too expensive and they are like a water proof transport chair. They are narrower and more maneuverable. Since I am adapting existing smaller bath, the chair saved me $$.

I am converting a downstairs bathroom to a curbless shower. The faucet handles will be accessible without chairbound or caregiver getting wet. And plenty of attractive safety bars.

You can use a door that swings both directions like this, but make sure to add grab bars and a lower hand held shower nozzle as well.
