But here are my thoughts:

Nice space!

You currently have a 4” backsplash and if you’d like to add a tile all the way up the wall, I’d remove the 4” piece. But I don’t think you really need anything more.

Would you be open to doing brass hardware? I think it would give the space something extra. But understand that you probably just got new. And it looks fine as is.

For a backsplash in here I’d probably keep it simple being that you have colored cabinets and Island.

I’d either

• match the countertops

• plain white tile in an interesting shape. Like a picket shape. Maybe.

• do you like the Chloe type tile. The handcrafted look? I think that could work too.

• or maybe a textured tile. In a more typical shape.

Are you removing the 4" backsplash? As others have said, if you're not removing it, don't add tile (or any other backsplash) on top of that.

Pebble Tile

The blue could work.

You need to decide if you want to stay subtle or go bold.

And, you could go subtle but with an interesting shape.

Bold with a patterned tile that can incorporate the blue.

Many options.

Thanks everyone so much for all your feedback and pictures of ideas. It really helps ὠ0 This is our first time getting backsplash done. Do we measure on our own or get a contractor to measure and tell us how much tile we will need?

You can measure .... all you need is sqf

You can find the total square feet of the wall by multiplying ceiling height by total wall length. (Subtract areas that will not be covered)

To buy the tile all you need is to indicate how many sqf you need... make sure to add an additional 10 - 15%
