You want the board and batten higher than the FP? Why ? IMO either wallpaper or B7B but not both on a wall tha already has a FP so maybe a drawing of what you are planning. You have what looks like contemporary furniture that I see so B&B does not make sense to me .

It’s a small wall with lots already going on. Suggest wallpaper only, reaccessorize the fireplace and replace shelf/pictures with larger/less to add more weight and counterbalance tv.

I have a difficult time picturing B & B, seems it will be too busy a backdrop for this space. Simplify the mantle with a few tall candlesticks, and a picture may be enough. Too busy with too many small items on mantle. I like your suggestions.
