I use colorful throw pillows to unify otherwise dissimilar seating.

IMO outside is where you can have some fun with color and pattern bright colors and mixing some floral ansd stripes in the same color palette is a very fun and exciting space for the summer use solid colors for some things like the umbrella and trhow pillows .
