Updating kitchen

I'd love to update my kitchen at minimal cost. We're thinking of selling so I don't want to invest too much but I'm tired of looking at it, or would probably be more appealing to buyers if it was more modern. I'm not crazy about the granite but i don't think it's worth it to change it so I'm looking for a way to update without changing it, if that's possible. I'd like to change the backsplash. I was thinking glossy off white to brighten up the room. Id paint the walls the same color. Do you think that can work with the old granite?maybe paint the window and sliding glass trim black. What can I do with the pendants, bench and light fixture?

I would replace the backsplash and paint walls. I'm not a fan if the chair rail.

Paint the walls and replace the backsplash---NOT with white tiles that will be too stark. You might lose buyers who want what they want if you re do too much. Most folks hesitate to re do 'new'.

I personally would use the colour of your chairs .

If you tackle the back splash I would look into a solid surface application. Maybe a complimentary stone in the lightest tone in your counter?

It’s a nice space, that would benefit from some minor updates. I would paint the walls all one color, including the wainscoting. You’ll have to try some samples in the space to find the right soft white. Once you have that, I would paint just the accent tiles in the backsplash and choose some black pendant lights and black hardware.
