ikea pantry - cover panels don’t fit

I am installing a full height pantry in my IKEA kitchen. I bought the cover panels to cover the sides, and I was expecting that they would both cover the front of the door and any slight gap between the cabinet and the wall. But they aren’t deep enough to do both. See attached photo. The gap is as much as 1/4 of an inch in places. Too wide for caulk.
I was hoping to scribe the back of the panel to the wall so that would be a seamless fit. But then if we do that the panel won’t cover the doors at the front.
I am really worried that this is just going to look messy, and not the built in effect I was hoping for it all.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? What are my options here?
