quartz backsplash question

So…we are putting a quartz backsplash up on a wall that’s has an opening on both sides. In other words, it will not be flush up against a wall or cabinet on the outside.
Do we…
A) line it up with the countertop overhang?
B) line it with the upper cabinet which shows the 1.5” countertop overhang?
Or
C) move the uppers 1.5” out so they would not line up with the lower cabinet, but would line up with the backsplash and the countertop overhang?
I now it’s confusing, but I can’t find many pictures showing this.
Any advise would be great, thanks!

I had to make a snap decision so moved the uppers out 1.5” Fingers crossed it was the right one! I will post a picture when the quartz is in. Thanks for the response!
