Is the KITCHEN ceiling 8' or 9'? You stated they were 8' in another post and commented on other peoples comments about them being 8'. Can you please clarify??

They are semi-custom. They are Brookhaven with custom trim installed between each cabinet to create a more built in look.

It appears the island is a little taller than 36". Is this accurate?

It's about 1.25" taller than the perimeter bc of the double thick marble island top

When doing our kitchen last year and trying to decide number and size of lights I taped out where the island would go and made paper templates of the sizes to see what worked best. It depends on look and what else is going around in your space too. I used string as well to hang the paper templates in place.

It looks as though you went with a built-up countertop on the island but not the perimeter counters. What was the rationale for doing that? Trying to decide for my own kitchen!

The double thick island top was more of an accent piece.

What kind and color is the flooring

These are oak, number 2 - it's a "less desirable" level of flooring, but I chose them because I wanted to variation and knots that many people see as "imperfect." We used three coats of water-based poly instead of oil based to avoid getting any yellow or red hues. The result is beautiful - a light, natural looking floor.

Beautiful kitchen, looks timeless! Question, are upper cabinets the tall 42”? I notice they go to ceiling. If smaller what size? I love that they balance the space and yet still provide ample backsplash. Thanks!
