I don't know what sort of trim is going on in the rest of the house, but I think you could beef up the window trim so that the windows appear to be one unit. The trim would be continuous at the top and bottom and far left and far right sides, while in between the windows you have a customized piece that fills in the entire wall area. Talk to your finish carpenter about what you'd like and they will have some suggestions about specific profiles.
