Can these midCentury cabinets be saved?

Just bought a mid century house. Kitchen has a couple of styles going on, but the original cabinets are still there. Yesterday I figured out that the refrigerator originally went where the dishwasher is now. This made me happy because moving the refrigerator will look better and get the space back to the original footprint.
My problem is that some of the original cabinets have surface erosion. Mostly lower cabinet doors. And, what can I do the 80s cabinet built ins to make them look like they didn't arrive from another time zone?
