How to hire a designer

Hello ! I feel like I really want/need someone with an “eye” to come on and give me suggestions on my home. I don’t want someone to try and sell me to use a certain company or product. What would this person be called and how do I find or research one? Thanks for any answers!!

You might want to look for someone who does home staging and redesign. That's what I do. Because I also do Occupied Home Staging (which is using the homeowner's own items and supplementing with some accessories) I'm very experienced at helping homeowners use what they have. Sometimes they want to start completely from scratch, but not usually.
