Kitchen Cabinets and Crown Molding- Need to be same paint color?

My shaker cabinets are BM Dove white and go up to crown molding at ceiling which extends to the entire room. My question is should the crown molding also be dove white? OR can I go lighter to show contrast? How would that look? My wall paint has not been selected.

I would use the same color on the crown molding as on the cabinetry.
