Installed Green Mountain Plank Flooring in my remodeled home 3 years ago. The Madrone flooring was stunning. A beautiful floor. The quality of flooring was exceptional, including the matte finish.
Unfortunately, the finish on this flooring is inferior, to say the least. The finish does not wear well in high traffic areas, scratches easily and relentlessly, and water spots without a remedy. On scratches I tried repairs using colored ink pencils. It worked but the scratches became innumerable. It would be an every day job doing repairs. Water spots are irreparable. This flooring is definitely substandard when exposed to water and should not be considered in a kitchen (and especially not where a water dish for your pet might be, even with a protective mat). This flooring wears very poorly, becomes dull and lifeless. Using WOCA Oil Refinisher helps but is temporary and would have to be done on a frequent basis. Reviving areas with WOCA Maintenance Paste, the recommended repair, is expensive and takes hours, if not days, to permit traffic because drying, even in optimal conditions, takes time.
If you can afford it, this flooring should be professionally maintained on a weekly schedule.
After 3 years, I am having to seriously consider refinishing the entire installation.
Buyer beware.
