James Lyman Reynolds, architect PC is a fully licensed and insured architectural design firm serving the Hudson Valley area since 2001. Our goal is to provide quality design services with professional integrity. Our project list includes a diverse mix of types and sizes, including Residential, Commercial, and Institutional building projects. Service include a full spectrum of pre-design feasibility studies, site planning and evaluation, programming, and code review through a full range of Design Development and Contract Document preparation services, including Bidding, negotiation, and Contract Administration Services. Currently the firm consists of two licensed Architects, and an architect in training, with independent consultants and freelance draft persons available for contract on a project specific basis. We worked with James Reynolds for a year on a renovation and addition to our home. He was exceptional in every way! He understood our needs, had wonderful ideas, paid close attention and gave us terrific support along the way. The results exceed our expectations. We now have a beautiful home that is perfect for our retirement needs.

This was our second time using James Reynolds for a building project. The first time was designing a 800 sq. foot artist studio in 2014. James's attention to detail lead us back to him to conceptualize, renovate and add to our existing 1970s house. One particular issue was we needed to deal with the original 1940s cabin portion of the house as we were modifying it considerably - modifying the upstairs unused space to create a bedroom and bathroom. The addition to the house was a new entry, adjacent living room, cantilevered breakfast room and wrap around porch. James's eye for detail made this a positive experience. James was also very engaged with our ideas and could incorporate them or offer opinions on solutions.

James Reynolds is a talented architect who combines artistic design, exciting materials, and efficiency in his work as an architect. My husband and I worked with James in the building of a second home overlooking the Hudson River. The construction of our more than 5000 square foot house proceeded smoothly and was completed in a timely fashion. It was a pleasure to work with James and we give him high recommendations.

James is so talented! We have now hired him for our third major project. First he managed to turn a shack into a beautiful home for our family. Then he was able to transform an addition to a trailer to a chic guest house. He also designed a beautiful garage/art studio that fits perfectly in with surrounding buildings.
