A Mid-Century Modern Inspired Condo

Midcentury Kitchen, Hawaii

In a 655SF one bedroom, one bath 1976 condo with popcorn ceiling and concrete walls, this lovely space was transformed into a clean and refreshing spa-like residence. The kitchen had newer cabinetry but the details like finished end panels at the microwave and refrigerator were missing. To install the new porcelain wood tile floor properly, the kitchen was completely uninstalled, new flooring laid and then the kitchen was re-installed. We finished-matched the cabinetry and shifted the previous design just a touch to create a more custom-looking kitchen. The granite matches the bath granite, flamed/antiqued black with a matte finish. An undermount stainless steel sink is paired with a Hansgrohe pull-down faucet and soap dispenser. The backsplash tile is 4x12 Lush Fog by Modwalls (found regularly here on Houzz). The pale green-blue paint on newly plastered walls plus a slightly darker accent paint give this old kitchen a new feel. This was a really fun project to design and building it just put the icing on our cake. Enjoy! A big THANK YOU to Jordan Smith for the great photos!
