It's a traditional kilim. I am selling a few of mine on Etsy. I bought a handful while building and now just have too many and/or the wrong colors for my house: etsy.me/1EEn7kO

Kilim is definitely Turkish, as are the iilim pillows. Actually really nice quality, too! Well done to the design group on this room! We comb Turkey looking for good quality vintage kilims, of this type, and also manufacture our own line of kilim pillows, made from vintage pieces that need too many repairs. you can find our goods at www.rugandrelic.com

This was my house. My husband was the builder, E. G. Pope, Inc. The furniture was made by his trim carpenters and our decorator, Lisa Torbett, had the bed-size cushions made with a sunbrella fabric. We could move some of the sofa bed pieces end to end and then throw pillows on the floor for a real Moroccan style meal. It was an amazing outdoor room. We got the idea from a rooftop at a hotel in Marrakesh. The tiles were bought and shipped from Fez. egpopeinc.com

What color/sheen is the white wall paint? It seems to reflect light much better than the antique white I currently have on my walls.

Antique White has some gold in it, so it gives a warmer glow, versus this brighter reflecting shade of white. Ben Moore has a lot of great whites. Chantilly Lace/OC-65 is catching my eye this morning. A true white with a drop of red (I'm guessing) for depth.

What color paint should I use? - Hey there! I am trying to figure out what the best color would be for my front porch. I have yellow siding with black shutters. My walk way and steps going up to my front porch are red brick. I was thinking of painting black or white but afraid of showing all of the dirt etc. It is currently grey and I can not stand it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Sharon

What Houzz contributors are saying:

Becky Harris added this to Here's How to Master the Throw-Pillow Mix
While the colors and patterns in this mix are very diverse, most of the pillows are kilim, which ties the large group of them together.

The couple's travels take them all around the world. They can bring a bit of Morocco home with them with a luxurious and exotic outdoor space like this one.
Natalie Myers added this to Unwind in a Boutique-Hotel Lounge — on Your Patio
An area rug helps anchor the space and adds a touch of color. Today's all-weather polypropylene rugs come in a vast array of patterns and colors, and are often indistinguishable from their interior brethren. Layer on pillows and candle lanterns to create the feeling of a Mediterranean casbah. The more indoor-style furniture and decor you use outside, the more of a boutique-hotel feeling you'll create.
Natalie Myers added this to Your Decor: Crazy for Kilim
An instant way to create a Middle Eastern authenticity to your Mediterranean-style villa is to add kilim rugs and pillows. The wool and flat weave method means that these textiles are hardy enough for high traffic as well as indoor and outdoor exposure. They would make the perfect addition for a sunroom.
Shoshana Gosselin added this to Warm Up a Sunroom Year-Round
If white seems too stark, punch up the color factor by adding a touch of Morocco or Mexico. Natural medium-toned woods mixed with the red, rust, and gold patterns found on the pillows and rug provide a foil for the bright walls.
Becky Harris added this to Backyard Bliss: Conjure a Global Oasis Outdoors
There may not be a view of minarets beyond these arches, but the kilim pillows and rugs used throughout this second-story covered terrace whisk visitors away to Turkey.
Fred Albert added this to 20 Outstanding Outdoor Living Rooms
An arched fireplace echoes the arches surrounding this Georgia porch. The herringbone tile floor is topped with a kilim carpet, while pillows on the sectional repeat the motif, lending the room an exotic air.
