The New American Home 2012

Modern Living Room, Orlando

The New American Home (TNAH) is constructed annually as a centerpiece for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show. Designed by Phil Kean, TNAH 2012 is located in Winter Park, Orlando, Florida. Thirteen recessed Executive motorized retractable screens and two manual retractable Legacy door screens by Phantom provide insect protection and solar shading when required. Used in combination with movable glass walls to create a seamless flow from the indoor to the outdoor spaces, Phantom`s retractable screens enable the homeowners to take maximum advantage of Florida’s friendly climate. Motorized recessed Executive screens make it possible to open up the kitchen, dining and family rooms to the outdoors, maintaining visibility outside while blocking up to 90% of UV rays. The screens are connected to the home automation system, making it easy to program them to lower or retract even when no one is at home.
