The tile over the bar was directly over an expansion crack in the concrete subfloor. Therefore, to prevent the tile from cracking as the pad expanded and contracted with heat/cool, we installed the tile on an orange Schluter mat, which would absorb the movements of the concrete pad without affecting the tile above.
