Alan Guazzoni Design, established in 1982, is a full service office providing outstanding residential and light commercial design in Stowe, Vermont and the surrounding areas. Our work includes new custom homes, condominiums, lodges, gazebos, garages and sheds as well as additions, renovations, kitchen and bathroom makeovers and much more. Our mission is to work closely with you to craft beautiful designs while respecting your budget. Our thoughtful and creative drawings, detailed construction documents and field representation during the building process make the designing and building of your new home or business an enjoyable experience with the best possible outcome. In addition, are now offering an optional and unique design service focusing on your health. Occupant health is often neglected, yet is clearly essential! The goal of this service is to create spaces that support your health through careful attention to indoor air quality, light and acoustical controls and building materials.

I have found him to be intelligent, articulate and thoughtful, not only in the way he approaches a design, but in the way he approaches the project as a whole. Alan is flexible and is open to sensible recommendations. His prints are well organized and approachable. Alan is readily available to answer questions and offer solutions when in-field realities make on print determinations difficult. When customers change their minds, Alan quickly produces the required changes on print to keep the job moving and on schedule. As a contractor, that is extremely important. Alan also has a very well developed sense of aesthetics that complements the existing building with the new addition. I have and will continue to recommend Guazzoni Design.

Alan Guazzoni was referred to me by my excavation contractor. He designed a large handicapped accessible addition to our home. He spent time with our family to understand our needs and wants and worked to meet our requirements while keeping our budget in mind. He worked extremely well with our excavation contractor and our general contractor. We were pleased not only with the quality of his work but with his general demeanor as well. We were so impressed with this professional that we hired him to design a second project for us.

Alan designed our vacation home in Elmore, VT in 1991 and also has worked on two major renovation projects since then, most recently a complete re-do of the large deck at the rear of our home which overlooks Mt Mansfield. Not only did he design a very creative deck and railing structure using state of the art materials, but he selected the contractor and monitored the work. We saw the completed deck for the first time last week and were extremely pleased with the design and workmanship. I would recommend Alan to anyone looking for a quality renovation.

We first worked with Alan in 1997 when he designed a mother-in-law apartment on our house in Stowe. He integrated the addition beautifully to the existing house and was a pleasure to work with. In 2012 we contracted with Alan to design a new porch and other exterior modifications to the house. We are currently (January 2015) working with Alan again. He is currently designing an updated living room for us. He is always prompt, courteous professional and reasonable. He is our "go to" designer when we need home design/renovation work.

Alan Guazzoni, with generosity of spirit, skills of a renaissance man, creativity of a true artist, and experience honed by years of successful house design provided us with our dream home. A remarkable collaborator, Alan kindly and acutely listened to our dreams and wishes then executed a design that far exceeded our expectations. He came with amazing references, cost sensitive in an area of expensive custom designed homes. Alan took our general design interests and in colaboration with our builder created a beautiful and unique home design we love. He did it quickly, at a very reasonable price and with no ego. Whether roof structure design value engineering with the builder, designing a small home with a big feel, or aiding us in our sensitive design review board presentation, Alan made the process enjoyable and hassle free.

When I decided to build a new home in Stowe, VT, I looked at some of Alan Guazzoni's designs and was impressed with the quality and originality of his work, and the excellent value he offered. I contracted with him to design and supervise the construction of a 3-bed 3-bath house with full basement and double garage, on a challenging piece of land, including coordination with a structural engineer. Alan met every deadline we agreed to, maintained an excellent relationship with the general contractor and trades, and delivered a finished product that I was proud of. Time from groundbreaking to occupancy was 6 months, as planned. I have no hesitation in recommending Alan to prospective owners. Yvan Champoux.
