About Us

Doors by Decora is a manufacturer of Custom Wood Entryways and Decorative Leaded and Beveled glass. We custom design, build, stain and finish, and install hand crafted wood doors. Decora Door was founded in 1968 by John Smith, a third generation carpenter. He later partnered with Charles Jones, a Montgomery area businessman know for his decorative stained glass work. They partnered together to form Doors by Decora, 100% custom door and glass shop. For nearly 50 years, Doors by Decora has been the premier name in finely crafted doors and decorative glass. Charles is semi-retired, and the company is now run by his children, J.K. & Emily Jones and long time partners Bill & Susan Poole. Several years ago, we decided to replace our front door with one that would be reflective of our Scottish heritage and of the many happy times that we have enjoyed in the highlands of Scotland. The artists at Doors by Decora took several of our favorite thistle pictures and created the beautiful door that is pictured in their Estate Door Collection as DbyD – 1020. It may be hard to believe that a front door could be a constant source of joy but, believe us, this one is! Commented: Where can I buy this door and What's the cost?Unfinished means it is raw wood. It will need to be either stained or painted after it is delivered. Pre-finished means it is stained here in our factory before it ships. It will be ready for insta...

Commented: Can you advise stain color?The color in the photo is Old Penetrating Brown. However, the manufacturer no longer makes that stain. Out of our current stains, Russett is probably the closest to what is shown in that photo.
