George's Cabinets

We purchased and completely remodeled a home in Marietta GA in 2021 and we had George's Custom Cabinets build and install custom cabinets in the kitchen and 4 bathrooms. Honestly, this rating system does not have enough stars to express how good the quality, workmanship and dependability is for George and his crew. My wife and I have owned 7 houses over the years and had custom cabinets built previously but nothing compares with what George built for us. I need to add also that George followed up promptly on the few outstanding items that needed to be done. He graciously worked with the architect and tradesmen who worked on our house and they almost all commented on George's thoroughness and attention to detail. I've attached photos of the project and without a doubt I encourage everyone to consider George for their cabinet project. Oh and btw, look up the word "honest" and you'll see a picture of George Volkov close by. As a co-worker of mine used to say "you can give George your wallet to hold before jumping into the pool!"

If you can dream it, George can build it. George Valkov entered my life in 2009 in the middle of a construction zone. My master bath and vanity were completely gutted when George was brought on board for the cabinet work. I had designed what I wanted, collected magazine pictures, and made drawings of both the inside and the outside of the cabinets. George delivered in every aspect. All told, George has completed 5 projects for me! When I was redoing my bedroom I couldn’t find a bed I wanted. So, I asked him, “George, can you build a bed, because here’s what I want . . .” . I now have a beautiful king bed with tremendous drawer storage space below. Next was my back porch. I live in a high rise condo with minimal storage. The back balcony needed help. I designed a bench-seat-chair with storage. It is the highlight of the balcony made out of lovely cedar wood. George built my dream entertainment center. Of course, I had bought a 42” flat screen TV and couldn’t find a ready-build unit that suited me. The gorgeous unit is the focal point of the den. Last but most stunning of all, is my new kitchen. I have specialty cabinets: 4 toe-kick drawers, a mixing cabinet, a wine rack, a warming drawer, super-size pantry for a condo, coffee cabinet and a divine silverware drawer. You know you can’t spell gorgeous without thinking GEORGE!

Old-World workmanship and up-to-date style and timeliness delivered with knowledge and experience. We cannot say enough about how pleased we are with the work. George, a proud immigrant, produces unbelievable quality and detail in his designs and final product. We were lucky enough to have George and his crew do the work for a recent remodel and we are thrilled with the results. He went the extra mile in every aspect of the process, including delivery and installation and was patient and attentive in listening to exactly what my wife had in mind for the final product. He got it exactly right. As we all know, if you make the lady of the house happy with the work, you have done your job in interior design. As George says, he makes women happy! George has a quiet and reserved manner of a" Bulgarian Clark Kent" when one initially meets him, but it doesn't take long to realize he is a superpower when it comes to design and craftsmanship of cabinetry and furniture! George remodeled our outdated 90's kitchen and created a work of art in the process. He listens patiently to ones ideas and then adds his years of experience to the mix thereby taking the creative process to a high level of functionality and practicality. The aesthetics of our new kitchen is a twist of both modern and traditional vibes. His suggestion of mixing walnut and white cabinets together-- added both warmth and pop simultaneously to the overall clean and simplistic effect we both had in mind! The lighted display niches he suggested above the cabinets, allow for a dramatic display of our eclectic collection of hand blown glass vases and pottery bowls collected from our travels. George can carve storages places out of the most minimum of spaces. You can easily imagine he has a bit of wizardry up his sleeve brought with him from the old country! I can't thank George enough for being the most talented wood craftsman , good listener, and ethical kind soul there is around!

I am pleased to provide this review of George’s Cabinets. The owner of this company is a unique artist. His pride in his work is evident in his attention to all aspects of the project. His confidence in his product (“You may beat my price but, you will not beat my quality.)” is well founded. My many house guests never fail to notice my kitchen (men, women, strangers) “Who made these cabinets, I’ve never seen anything like this!” My situation was unusual. After a house fire in 2017, I interviewed cabinet makers in Atlanta. After receiving the bait and switch process from larger suppliers of cabinetry, I met George in his workshop. There was no sales pitch. He showed me some of his work and asked me to submit drawings to describe my vision for the kitchen. When we reached a decision about the project, he visited me at the home which was undergoing renovation from the fire, took measurements, and scheduled a meeting to discuss my choice of materials and arrive at a price. I chose to build the cabinets with solid cherry and committed to a project that would involve about forty feet of cabinetry much of which extended from floor to the 9 foot ceiling. In a week, George informed me that he had purchased the wood and would begin production when I supplied a target date for completion. Within one week, the restoration company that was repairing the damage to my home had their plumber finish the sweating of pipe so that drywall replacement could commence. That night, within hours after the plumber left, my house was again ablaze and this time was burned to the ground. George would not accept my payment for the wood he had already procured and said “we could talk.” I had no idea when reconstruction could begin because now I had to find a builder because there was no house to restore. The construction began in July of 2018 and was completed in six months. After 12 months from the time of the second fire, the house was ready for cabinet installation. The measurements had changed so George again visited with me at the house and took new measurements, then went to work on building the cabinets. By November, we were ready for cabinets and he made the install smooth and seamless. He was in ongoing contact with my builder and they coordinated perfectly to complete the project. My builder was so impressed that he told me George would build the cabinets for his upcoming new home construction projects. You will not be pressured to make a purchase. He encouraged me to describe my vision for the kitchen and, when I submitted my drawings, made astute observations and recommendations while showing a good understanding of my overall vision and functional requirements. At every point in the project, George was a partner whom I came to trust and admire. If you are looking for boxes to store stuff in, then George is not your guy. But, if you want a superior artisan who will work according to your vision, provide ahead of time delivery, and make you, your friends, and total strangers who visit your home awe stuck with the quality and beauty of the project, then George is your guy and Georges Cabinets will be in your home.

My husband and I did a whole home renovation and addition. We took a traditional, older 70's home and remade it into a much more functional, open home with a decidedly modern design. We looked into a number of different cabinet makers, both custom and semi-custom. When we spoke with George and saw the quality of his work, we knew we wanted him to build our kitchen and other cabinets and vanities throughout the house. Once we agreed on a budget, George got to work and was on time with everything he promised He worked hand in glove with our builder and interior designer to produce cabinet work that far exceeded our expectations. He really worked well with our interior designer to produce pull out drawers in the kitchen, a unique island design and beautiful great room cabinets. He truly helped us build our dream kitchen and home. He was very easy to work with and took our ideas and brought them to life. We have had him back to do other projects and again he produced the same quality work. I can't recommend him highly enough.

We have used George's Cabinets both professionally and personally. He built cabinets for our vacation home, our office and several job sites. He goes above and beyond to please the customer. He is meticulous, detailed, a perfectionist and extremely patient, and this is reflected in the craftsmanship of his work. My wife and I hired George Valkov to do some remolding updates to our kitchen in Marietta GA. We were so impressed with the quality of work we asked George to then remodel our master bathroom. Two years later we purchased a new home in Florida and once again contacted George to take on a whole home customization. This second home included a new custom kitchen, three baths, a summer kitchen, custom built-in in the Master Bedroom and custom Garage storage that is the envy of the community! The quality of the materials, finishes, and both internal and external hardware (e.g. hinges , drawer guides, pulls) are those only found in truly high-end custom cabinetry. George has provided custom cabinets for two homes and it is without hesitation we have recommended George to family and many friends in both Florida and Georgia.
