Xero Flor green roof technology was created in Germany over 40 years ago and has been used on thousands of projects worldwide. Xero Flor America, LLC. was formed in conjunction with the 454,000 square foot green roof installation on Ford’s Dearborn Truck Plant. XFA utilizes extensive academic research and proven German technologies to produce a variety of green roof systems tailored to individual project design goals and regional North American climates. Xero Flor pre-vegetated green roof mats are installed on custom designed base layers for an ‘instant green’ roof system that is naturally resistant to weed encroachment, wind uplift, and surface erosion. Xero Flor green roofs succeed because the real work happens on the ground. Our lightweight vegetated mats are propagated in the field, rolled up and installed like sod on rooftops, creating fast, easy, green roofing. Xero Flor pre-vegetated mats are supplied from regional farms located near most U.S. metropolitan areas. Local production insures regionally adapted plant communities, short delivery times, and contributes to locally sourced LEED® credits.
