Old Mill Builders has worked for me on several projects. The first involved digging out a large, shallow crawl space and removing lots of rocks and dirt. This was done quickly, efficiently and with amazing good humor. The price was also very fair given the difficulty of the job. OMB also re-built my roof using specifications provided by another contractor. This could have been a problem, but OMB worked with the other contractors in a cordial and professional manner. Despite bad weather the old roof was removed and the new roof installed with no problems to the rest of the house. OMB also renovated a bathroom for me. All estimates were kept. All work done on time. Jeff Yenter is very knowledgeable and gives sound advice. He also listens well. I recommend him and Old Mill Builders very highly.

I first met Jeff Yenter (Old Mill Builders) some years back when looking for a solution to a fireplace that, despite having a motor to enhance draw, we could not light it without smoking the whole house. We had recently purchased the house, and several other contractors and 'specialists' had looked at the problem and suggested we give up the fireplace and replace it with a modern heating system. Jeff and his team of professionals immediately identified the problem and solved it. There was an old, wrought iron potbelly stove that shared the same flue. Given that it's 'entry' was lower than the point the fireplace accessed the flue, creating a downdraft, which made the smoke stay in the room. Since the potbelly had come with the house and we had no use for it, it was removed, and problem solved! Since then, we have had Old Mill Builders do all our work, from replacing and enlarging the swimming pool, building storage sheds, and enclosed vegetable garden, to painting the house and pave part of the driveway. No job has been too big or small for them, and they have all been within the time period specified, within budget, and done with a smile! I cannot recommend him better. Old Mill Builders are reliable, reasonable in their pricing and the ultimate professionals. If you are looking for stress free work with a top notch contractor, Jeff and his team are it. I have not listed prices, since there are several projects he has done, ranging from a few thousand dollars, to the pool that came in at around $100,000.00, including leveling of ground and surrounding fence.

Jeff and his team built our pool house, barn as well as a built-in in our living room. First off Jeff and his team are major craftsmen. The level of detail of the work is fantastic. Jeff really understands the architecture of the Litchfield County area and he brought that aesthetic to us. He created plans, budgets and timelines that were very thoughtful and detailed. His budgets are clear and you always feel he is working with you on the cost of the projects, very fair and clear. No surprises which is important when working with contractors. I also appreciate that he stands by his work from the beginning of the project to the end....as well as years after. I have recommended him to 3 other clients and all have been equally pleased with working with him and his team. I also want to call out the team that he employs carry the same level of respect to his clients as he does. When Jeff is not present his team completely understands the work and leads in the same respectful manner that Jeff would. I have worked with the company twice now, once for a small renovation and once for a major addition which doubled the size of our house. Jeff is very easy to work with, and very professional--after the major addition we did not have a single call back. Really quite remarkable. We have hired Old Mill for several jobs from a complex but relatively small basement finishing job, to whole buildings being built or gut renovated. I have seldom worked with a builder who is so consistently on time and on budget and does quality work, IN addition, Jeff has great taste and makes good recommendations on design choices like hardware and trim.

Old Mill Builders/ Jeff Yenter completely remodeled and made several major additions to our home. Totaling of 6 thousand Sq. feet. We did four phases. It was a difficult project. The original structure was very old. We started with architectural plans. My very favorite thing that Jeff was able do was adjustments to the plans as we went based on what we wanted and did not want. He remodeled are kitchen ,bathrooms, family room ,living room,etc.. Old Mill Builders provided quality workmanship through out the project. Some of my favorite things are my fireplaces and my beautiful woodwork through out my home. Jeff is very easy going even when something could be frustrating. We found him very fair and reliable.

Old Mill Builders built us a great house in the Litchfield Hills. Jeff Yenter and his team did very high quality work, and built our house from foundation to completion surprisingly quickly. Jeff's experience and keen aesthetic judgement were crucial to our project, especially when we made design alterations during construction. One aspect of the process that was very important to us was smooth communication, and Jeff was constantly in touch and always available to meet on site accommodating our schedule. His patience and eagerness to answer all of our questions, as well as his ability to clearly explain all the details of construction gave us a lot of confidence right from the start. We now have an incredibly beautiful custom home, and hope to have Old Mill Builders construct an outbuilding for us in the future.
