This was the absolute worst experience we have ever had with a contractor. A project that should have taken a maximum of two weeks took three months. We paid thousands and thousands of dollars up front and found out 2 1/2 months later that he had never even purchased our materials and had spent our money elsewhere. Throughout the entire project, he was incredibly difficult to get in touch with. We would go 4 or 5 days with no reply and when he would finally reply, whatever he said would be a lie. He told us numerous times that he had ordered our material and that he didn't know why it hadn't been delivered....a lie every time. The finished product is some of the most shoddy work I have ever seen. There are mistakes literally everywhere you look. Within a month of having the patio, pavers have already fallen off at the edges and sunk throughout. Capstones have come loose and have become a hazard for our young children. We had agreed the patio would be built up about a foot and intead, to save himself money, he dug it down to grade at the bottom of a hill and has created a huge drainage problem for us. Everytime it rains, the entire patio becomes a mud pit because the water and mud drain right onto it and he knew this and did nothing to fix the problem. There were many times we had to go to the store to buy materials because he did not bring or order enough. He didn't have any of his own equipment and used our power washer and lawn tractor on many occasions. He didn't bring enough sand for the job and I caught him using bags of sand that we had sitting by our garage. He didn't even ask, he just took all 8 60 pound bags of sand. Apparently, that wasn't enough either because he tore the cover off of my children's sand box and used the sand out of that too! He left our yard a complete mess and did not even remove the construction debris. I was constantly picking up nails and screws from my yard and my husband had to take 2 truck and trailer loads of trash to the dump because Jim never took the trash from the site. He did however, walk off with some of our tools. We texted him multiple times asking him to return them and he would not reply. Incredibly unprofessional and dishonest "company"
