About Us

For over 38 years, I have specialized in custom designing, building, and finishing of any woodworking project that meets the desires of my customers. My career as a woodworker started when I completed my first project at age 14. I became enthralled with the craft and learned as much as I could through drafting and art classes, vocational training, and spending time in local woodshops. Since establishing Garofalo Woodworks, I’ve been fortunate enough to complete thousands of unique projects for homes, offices, and outdoor spaces. With each project, I collaborate with my client on ideas before I begin building with the utmost care — I am constantly focused on detail. It’s an honor to know that what I’ve designed with my client will be permanently installed in their home or office. Each time this cycle repeats itself, from first sketch to reality, I’m reminded of why I fell in love with woodworking over thirty years ago.

The quality of Alex's work initially was great and very creative; I only have one beef and that was his unwillingness to address warping doors on our bookshelves after only 3 years.

Alex replaced the door and drawer fronts and hinges on two bathroom vanities as part of a remodeling project. What I loved about Alex was how easy he was to work with. He was easy to schedule an estimate appointment with, he provided great advice on ideas for door profiles, and when it was time to install, he was in and out in a very short time. He was very professional and his work was suburb! I'm planning to do some more remodeling and will definitely be reaching out to Alex for that work!

Alex has made several different pieces for us. including an armoire for my master bedroom, an occasional table for my entry, and a bed and dresser set for my daughter's bedroom. Every single piece came out beautifully. For some of the pieces he worked with designs we had come up with and made them even better than we had envisioned. For others he came up with the designs himself. The quality of his work is top notch. He's also really great to work with and great guy! We'll definitely be working with him again!

From the beginning of the design through the completion of the project, Alex was extremely professional through the entire process. He built a large dining/living room wall unit with shelves, cabinets and wine rack. He built a beautiful mantle for the fire place and outfitted an office with countertop, shelves and file drawers. His work is impeccable. He is an extremely talented cabinet maker, and willing to consider design changes in the process. He is an individual of the highest integrity and very personable. Alex is one of the most respectful and helpful people I have met. Not only was his work exquisite but he went above and beyond in many ways, with his skills and ideas. He even took my homeschooled kids to his shop and showed them how he was making our beautiful built in desks and storage on a curved wall. Alex did a great job on our custom cabinets and shelves in our basement. His quote was less than other cabinet builders that we interviewed and I think that was because he didn't try and talk us into buying things we didn't need. We had a budget and he respected that. Even though it was a large amount of shelves and cabinets he was able to install everything in one day.
