If you just bought your home or are ready for a change, the Remodel showroom is a great place to start, whether you already have a contractor or not. A few years ago, Michael Alberti and Dennis Ketcham merged two construction companies to create FD Building Co. They both realized that their business was mostly retail direct, meaning both worked directly with the end user, whereas most construction companies work for architects or designers. They also realized that the majority of their clients had just bought their vacation home and were looking to tear it apart; some on a budget, some not. This led to an understanding of an untapped market. The Remodel showroom gives the client a place to coordinate all of the trims, textures and finishes to their renovation project. The showroom carries bath trim and fixtures, kitchen cabinets, furnishings and home decoration; essentially, most things needed to make your new place yours. Remodel covers looks ranging from modern and contemporary to transitional. The philosophy is to streamline the massive collections that are offered at plumbing supply and/or cabinet showrooms. We let the clients and our designers curate these lines down from overwhelming to manageable. We cater to clients who may not need any structural changes or whose budget is limited; if their project is too small for one of our many amazing (but intimidating) architectural firms on the east end. We can provide drawings if needed for town approval, or even to just clarify the project to the client or installer. We've strategized product lines that offer price points lower than other showrooms in the area, while never compromising quality, finishes and overall looks. Regarding competitors, let's face it, it's the Hamptons -- everything is expensive -- but we've toned that down to make it more manageable.
