I was rather anxious when we decided turn our dungeon like basement into a bright and cheerful workshop that I would enjoy working in. We had just moved to Charlottesville and I had no references for good contractor. We have had such unhappy experiences in the past with builders that I dreaded the whole experience. Kevin Jones was recommended to us by our realtor. It was the best referral that we have ever received! He listened to what it was that I needed and made suggestions when I was not sure and quickly I felt very confident that he would do a great job for us. He was responsive, on time and always kept his word. His price was very fair, and the he kept to schedule. All of his craftsmen were respectful and polite! I am thrilled with the end result, I have a beautiful, bright and very functional workshop!

I hired Kevin to finish a basement bedroom and bath. I was looking for someone who was knowledgeable, experienced, reasonably priced, and easy to work with. Kevin was all of those things. He brought in experienced, reliable, and hard working tradesmen to complete the project on time and above my expectations. From the little things like extra padding under the rug to compensate for the concrete floor, to driving around looking for the right granite, to working with us on a few changes, to matching as many of the elements as possible to the rest of the finished space in the house - it was all done at or above my expectations. He was on-time and on budget which is not always a given in construction, especially when you have to rely on some subcontractors. I told him my only regret is that we didn't have more money so I could have him finish the rest of the basement. I'd use him again in a heartbeat when the time comes to finish more of my unfinished space.

In this day and age of home building it is rare to find the Owner/General Contractor on site practically daily overseeing every step of the building process. We have had Kevin build two homes for us and the experience has been flawless and stress free due to the fact that he treats every dollar spent as if it were his own and has an eye for outstanding quality that is second to none.

Kevin has donated his time and considerable skills to the Ronald McDonald House of Charlottesville for several years. He is extremely knowledgeable and skilled at all things related to "house". He doesn't cut corners, and - something we highly value - he is a person of his word. If Kevin says he is going to be here at "x" time on a certain date he is here and ready to work. The end results of his projects are always above and beyond our expectations. We highly recommend Kevin to anyone in need of construction services.

Kevin is a great guy to work with. His knowledge of how to accomplish what I wanted to do was superior to other contractors who supplied estimates. We discussed several designs and he supplied photos and drawings on how it would look when finished. Timing, price, permits, and clean up met all my expectations. Would certainly use Kevin's services for future projects.

I worked as a subcontractor with Kevin on a kitchen and family room remodel. I found Kevin to very knowledgeable about all phases of the construction process and to be very organized. Kevin was very diligent about communicating between subs and the client. He ensured questions were reacted to early and answers came quickly to avoid delays in the project. Kevin Jones is a first class individual and contractor. He is thorough and professional and a joy to work with. He did a first floor master suite addition and four season porch that we absolutely love. His subcontractors are very very good, clean, and professional.

Kevin did an excellent job from startt to finish. He was prompt,,knowledgeable and accurate in his estimates.. He was cognizant of deadlines and respectful of the importance of time factors. It was an enormous project with many pitfalls, but he navigated the whole process with grace and courtesy. His work was above superior. I would highly recommend him to everyone. Our home was a bank foreclosure at a great price but bought as-is and in less than stellar condition under a governmental FHA 203(K) loan. Needless to say, the home required some immediate repairs by a single general contractor to bring it up to compliance with government loan regulations. Kevin was superb at navigating the governmental bureaucracy and paperwork as well as determining the repair requirements needed, arranging the necessary sub-contractors and making everything flow smoothly and quickly in our limited window between when we finally obtained the house and when it was necessary for us to move in. I can't praise his professionalism, dedication and solid reliability highly enough. In a period of about 14 days, we had a new roof put on, hardwood floors striped and varnished, dry wall repairs done, a water damaged add-on closet removed, the basement striped and treated for mold, exterior painting done, new gutters put on, a stair handrail put up and the interior fully primed in preparation for final painting. A lot of work, involving several sub-contractors, all needing coordination, and access set so they wouldn't be in each other's way, yet Kevin still got it done in a timely manner. Luckily the government shutdown gave him a couple of weeks to line things up, between our decision to buy and the start of the repairs but still getting all those people in and out with quality work and no problems deserves high praise. Most general contractors would have take a month or more with at least one major disaster with a sub-contractor. Kevin made it happen, and we couldn't be happier with him or the results.

Kevin Jones with Contracting Services is by far one of the most quality builders in the greater Charlottesville area. He is detail oriented and incredibly responsive. He listens first, gives an honest opinion and is there long after the job, whatever size that might be is complete, and to his customer's liking. We hired Kevin to build our custom home that we designed and we would recommend him to anyone at anytime for any size job. He years of experience and the way he manages his jobs he makes you feel like he is building his own home.
