Our experience with Polli has been very frustrating, as we believe we were misled and substantially overcharged for work on our roof, while also having a poor experience with follow-up communications. Polli estimated in the $2,000 to $3,000 range for inspection and repair of our cedar roof, however they recently invoiced us over $9,400, while performing a small fraction of the work we expected. We asked for clarification on why their labor was well beyond their estimate but we received no explanation. Additionally, we were invoiced for materials well beyond what they said they needed and actually used. Cedar shingles come in large bundles and they charged us for eight, but only quoted and used one bundle. Additionally, they charge a 50% markup on supplies and contractors, which we knew about but expected for their quoted amount of $300-500. We did not anticipate $3600 in materials charges, resulting in $5049 after their markup. They even charged us a markup on the sales tax. After we posted a negative review on Google reviews, they responded there (but they still won’t respond to our emails) and said we knew about all this and agreed to it in writing. Most of that is false. They still have provided no explanation about the labor and they claim they needed to order extra cedar to match the sizing of the shingles being replaced. That was news to us and would make sense, however they stored all the cedar in our garage and I can confirm the extra bundles remained intact and untouched. Based on our experience they underquote to win the bid and then surprise you with a big bill. I recommend avoiding Polli Construction at all costs!
