Autumn's Return Bird on Branch Sculptureby Mark Hopkins
$1,600
Free Shipping
The "Autumn's Return" Bronze Bird on Branch Sculpture by acclaimed designer Mark Hopkins celebrates the rich, warm floral hues of fall in evocative detail and unique gravity-defying style. An intricately textured little bird sits among the changing autumn leaves, rendered in the finest bronze available and finished with a very special "hot patina" technique in which chemical solutions are applied to reveal deep blends of natural and metallic hue. Express your love for the beauty of nature and enhance any space with organic flair, or give it as a thoughtful gift for a nature-loving friend or family member. Crafted with pride in the USA.
Internationally renowned American artist Mark Hopkins creates bronze sculptures that have thrilled collectors and casual art fans alike for more than two decades. Mark Hopkins' unique balance of organic inspiration and singular contemporary design has been called "bronze in motion" for its fluid look, which often appears to display natural beauty in defiance of gravity.
About Mark Hopkins
Mark Hopkins takes his inspiration for every facet of life on Earth, from the majesty of wildlife to mankind's interaction with nature, and produces limited-edition pieces that evoke a sense of awe and respect for the mysteries and loveliness of the world around us. Collectors of his work include Barbara Mandrell, Clint Eastwood, Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, George and Barbara Bush and a host of other luminaries and corporations including the National League Association of Baseball Club Owners, the Atlanta National Golf Club, Humana, Coca-Cola and others. Each Mark Hopkins sculpture is crafted with pride in the USA.
Captivated by form and design, Mark has personally created a signature style of vibrant vitality resulting from decades of study. Encouraged by parents and teachers from an early age, Mark's unique talent developed alongside his technical skills of sculpting and casting. As an artist, Mark is constantly challenging himself to render the rich beauty of life and the deep emotion of the human soul into flowing sculptural form, noting "I strive to express beyond the image, to catch spirit, to reveal deeper emotions, and to share joy. "
About the Production Process
From the artist's hand to the final polishing stages, many intricate steps go into the creation of a limited edition bronze sculpture. First the reproduction mold is made in which layers of silicone rubber and plaster are delicately applied to the original work. Then hot wax is poured into the reproduction mold to form an exact replica of the original sculpture.
When the wax replica is removed from the mold, it is then inspected and refined or "chased" by hand to remove any imperfections that may have occurred in the reproduction process. Next, ceramic cup and wax sprues, or gates, are added which later will help channel the molten bronze into the shell to create the sculpture.
The next step is creating the ceramic shell by alternately dipping the wax replica over a period of several days into a vat of liquid slurry, then a vat of silica crystals. The shell is then set to dry, and the process repeats until the shell has reached the appropriate thickness and strength.
The finished shell is placed in a high temperature oven that melts and removes the wax (the traditional "lost wax" method). The hardened or "fired" shell is secured, so the molten bronze can now be poured into the wax impression.

Size: 22.5 Inches Tall x 26 Inches Wide x 12.6 Inches Deep - Genuine Lladro Fine Porcelain - Handmade in Valencia Spain - Lladro Assurance Program Registration Forms Included - Lladro Figurines Item Number: 01001944 - Limited Edition of 1000 Worldwide - Should horses falter, the state will fall is how the courageous Chinese General Ma Yuan (14 BC - 49 AD) described the importance of the horse in oriental culture. Lladro borrowed its inspiration from the equestrian sculptures of the Tang dynasty (618 - 907), the golden era of Chinese art, to create this High Porcelain Oriental horse. A remodeling, on a smaller scale and with different finishes, of the Limited Edition with the same name launched in 1971, which was sold out in 1986. - Oriental horse conveys the meaning this animal held in China since ancient times: beauty, power and wealth. As in equestrian sculptures from the golden era, these pieces are depicted with great naturalism, achieved through meticulous attention to detail. The head, inclined in an elegant posture, shows off the bowed neck and prominent breast, conveying nobility and elegance. - The matte version of the Lladro Oriental Horse Figurine recreates the hues of a thousand-year-old figure aged with the patina of passing time, similar to those surviving from the golden era that are so highly appreciated by antique collectors. The chromatic sobriety of this sculpture enhances the bluish cobalt color of the saddle and the horse's neck, rendering a composition full of nuances. - Decoratively speaking, the Lladro Oriental Horse Matte Figurine 01001944 is a profusely ornamented piece. The details of the horse blanket, inspired by the doublet of medieval knights, are a result of the influence of Western culture on the Tang dynasty. The pride with which this horse wears its tack makes this piece a symbol of exclusiveness. The artistic work and technical mastery of its sculptor are combined here to create a sculpture without the porcelain base on which pieces usually rest. Thanks to a perfect command of balance, a dynamic composition full of movement has been achieved with a horse resting only on three legs. - When admiring this majestic horse, it is hard not to agree with experts in oriental sculpture when they wisely claim that you don't have to read a book on Chinese art to love a Tang horse or the Lladro Oriental Horse Matte Sculpture01001944 - Ships From Inside The United Stated - No International Duty Or Import Tax Due Upon Delivery

Size: 9.5 Inches Tall x 12.25 Inches Wide x 10.6 Inches Deep - Genuine Lladro Fine Porcelain - Handmade in Valencia Spain - Lladro Assurance Program Registration Forms Included - Lladro Figurines Item Number: 01001939 - Every year on March 3rd, Japan celebrates Hina Matsuri, the Doll Festival. Girls receive Hina Dolls as presents, which are then used to form a Hina ningyo, a composition to be arranged on a kind of altar or against a backdrop to ensure a happy life for girls. - Lladro has created the main characters of this composition in High Porcelain, namely the Emperor and the Empress. All the details of these illustrious persons have been faithfully reproduced. The costumes are inspired by those worn by the Japanese imperial court during the Heian period (794-1185) and are outstanding for the many layers. In fact, on the Empress' costume we can count up to seven layers. Besides, both of them have the attributes (sword, scepter, crown) associated with emperors as well as a spot on their foreheads, symbolizing their nobility. - The impressive decorative skills of the High Porcelain workshop are given their utmost expression in these pieces. Breaking away from the classic Lladro palette, the intense tonalities have been applied with great meticulousness. Worth noticing in the Emperor are the dark tones of his costume and the details in three colors applied against a dark background. Also worth mentioning is the hilt of his sword decorated with gold luster, a highly complex and painstaking technique that adds a wealth of detail to the piece and requires a further firing in the kiln. - Meanwhile, the Lladro Hina Dolls Empress Figurine 01001939 boasts arange of color in the layers of her costume. According to tradition, these layers are all silk and each in a different color, which is why Lladro artists have recreated the coloring of the fabric with such detail. One of these layers has also been decorated with gold luster, applied by hand in a lengthy and complex process. - These sculptures are so rich in detail that they are a true spectacle for the sight, both when seen from in front as well as from behind. The costumes are an excellent demonstration of the profusion of details Lladro High Porcelain creations can achieve while the braiding of the hair is another display of minute detail. The costumes of the two characters have very rich fabrics with highly worked embroidery, mirroring the thick Japanese fabrics, and a texture imitating damask silk. - The bases also have an oriental appearance and, for the very first time in Lladro, the figurines rest on an elegant silk-lined cushion created specifically for these pieces. - Ships From Inside The United Stated - No International Duty Or Import Tax Due Upon Delivery
