It's our ultra-comfortable twist on the chic 1956 Florence Knoll Sofa series. Mid-century design updated with a comfortable seating posture & the original 'time period' tufted details we all love. Beautifully upholstered by hand in a variety of performance tested, heavy weight fabrics. The sofa frame is crafted from steel springs and solid hardwood. The foam is dense, durable, comfortable and safe. The foam meets CA fire retardant requirements without the addition of chemicals.

Making the Icon
One of the most influential Mid Century Modern icons of the 20th century. But not all furniture is made the same way. Our dedicated upholsterers keep the lines tailored, the upholstery taunt and the curves even. Florence's squeak free frame is solid wood, glued & screwed. Buttons are hand sewn. Cushions are individually fitted to the frame and generously filled. Florence is delivered with a limited lifetime warranty.

For comfort, we have added a degree of back pitched seating angle within the wood frame. This, combined with the plump, soft down filled back and seat cushions provides a surprisingly comfortable back pitched modernist lounging experience tastefully wrapped in a Natural American Walnut shell.

Genuine Top Grain Aniline Leather:

A small percent of the world's leather supply is of high enough quality for 100% Top Grain Aniline upholstered furniture. Aniline Dyeing is the process of soaking the hides in transparent aniline dyes which allows color to absorb into the natural hide. Top Grain Aniline leather is then topical stain protected to minimize liquid absorption during every day use but does not require imitation grain stamping methods which imprint a Faux grain over the majority of the leather surface. Without all the synthetic topical coatings, it breathes naturally making it comfortable for seating. It is soft, supple, durable and pliable, maintaining the characteristics of pure leather.

About Vintage Tailored Twill:

Twill is an interwoven knit fabric. The thread takes turns in an over and under weave forming a crooked yet overall lineal rectangle pattern that can be discerned at close range. The pattern exists but appears somewhat random when viewed from a normal distance. Vintage Tailored Twill features a finer, tightly tailored flat weave appearance.
Vintage Tailored Twill provides perhaps a more refined, tailored appearance than that of a typical coarse twill. It relies on the multi-tone nature of the fabric strands themselves to provide the appearance of depth of texture.

This product has a nice and stylish design, and is built using hardwood construction. The sofa is adjustable with many settings for different positions. It also comes with two bolsters for added comfort.
