Alive during the Western Han Era (206BC - 8AD), Zhao Jun was forced into an odious marriage by Emperor Yuan. On her way to her new home, Zhao Jun sang a sorrowful melody on her pipa. So profound was her grief and so beautiful was her voice that birds fell from the sky out of sadness.
