This raku fired bowl is perfect for creating an eclectic decor. It appears ancient, with deep symbols and a secret language. Although it feels smooth to the touch, the surface is pitted and the colors change with the light.
It was raku fired outdoors in a fiber kiln and while red hot, removed and placed in a container of leaves, pine needles, and sawdust. The combustion turned oxide coloring to real metal. The prize for surviving this extreme temperature shock, is a surface that shimmers with metallic greens, coppers, and subtle purples.
- Display this alone, place an air plant in it, or pair it with one of the other Ancient Artifact handmade pots on my site.
