Japanese Vase with Roses and Anemones, 1890by La Pastiche
$95
Free Shipping
Clearly evident in both the title and content of this 1890 still life is the influence of Japanese art on the work of Vincent van Gogh. The famously tormented artist was a collector of ukiyo-e woodblock prints, even reproducing some by Hiroshige in his own hand. Here, the style of vase and the darkly stricken contour lines belie his eastern influences. The red roses at the top of the composition provide a balanced complement to the green vase, demonstrating his knowledge of compositional and color theories. Our skilled artists have faithfully recreated his lush bouquet and vibrant setting in this handmade oil-on-canvas reproduction.

20" X 24" Oil painting on canvas. Hand painted oil reproduction of a famous Degas painting, Two Dancers on Stage. The original masterpiece was created in 1874. Today it has been carefully recreated detail-by-detail, color-by-color to near perfection. Edgar Degas was born in Paris in 1834 and studied art from a young age. His most popular paintings were and still are his ballerina paintings like The Dance Class , Star Dancer (On Stage) , and Dance Studio at the Opera . Asymmetrical compositions like Two Dancers on Stage show the influence of the Japanese prints in which Degas became interested. His painting career was prematurely ended by failing eyesight, and he died in Paris in 1917. This work of art has the same emotions and beauty as the original. Why not grace your home with this reproduced masterpiece? It is sure to bring many admirers! Frame Description: Burgeon Gold Frame

About the Artist:
- Henry Paul Brown; Born 1950 in Greensboro, NC and attended Page High School where he received the Gold Key award. Henry is a self-taught painter who began in the age of 15. His main artistic mediums are watercolor, oils and acrylics.
- Henry is an avid outdoorsman and forager. He finds beauty in the smallest details of nature and expresses this on canvas, board or paper. Very much a traditional watercolorist in his early career; landscapes, seascapes, and deserts, all places influenced his subject matter. His travels all over this country are seen in his early works. In recent years, a life experience has evolved his painting into precise intricate abstract pieces that are an explosion of color and movement. His spiritual and faith based writing on many of his works give one an insight to this artist.
- Over the years, Henry has been featured in several art shows in North Carolina.
- Collectors include: Charles Kuralt, Cone Family, Murals for High Point, NC and International Furniture Market and Restaurant
