Swedish Dishcloth/Sponge Cloth, Mid-century Modern Half Pods by Jenn Skiby Trendy Tripper(1)
$5
THE SWEDISH ECO-FRIENDLY DISHCLOTH: The dry sponge cloth was invented in 1949 by the Swedish engineer Curt Lindquist, who discovered that a mixture of natural cellulose (wood pulp) and cotton can absorb an incredible 15 times its own weight in water.
These thin Swedish dishcloths have had a presence in most Scandinavian homes since then. They make a great alternative to paper towels for general wiping up and light cleaning and are perfect for homes, cottages, kitchens and bathrooms. Our elegant Bullseye collection is made from slip molded Portuguese clay. The color tones of turquoise, dark blue, moss green, and pink in combinations of metallic and plain glazes create unique one-of-a-kind items, no two will be alike. Hand painted with reactive chemical glazes, the trial and error involved in getting just the right color combination took our factory several months to achieve. Much of our ceramic and glaze development is a combination of art, chemistry, and tenacity when creating something that simply has not existed. Decorative use only - not for food.
