It took them over 3 months to finally install my cabinets but did not install my counter top. When I asked the installer about my countertops he said they will call us to set it up. 1 week later no calls even though both my builder and I have contacted Laura. Laura seems to be the root to our problem. She lacks good work ethics and customer service. Her company caused my closing date to be pushed back by one month, it was scheduled to be August 19, 2016, which cost us more money at closing. Under duress my husband and I decided to close even though our cabinets were not all installed with the understanding that it would be fully installed by September 28, 2016. The cabinet install happened on October 13, 2016 after the company no showed on two different scheduled install dates, each time after the fact the company claimed that our cabinets weren't in their warehouse even though they had confirmed with our builder that they had them. Still no countertop. At 12:31pm on Oct 20, 2016 I contacted her again at 434-298-0081 after her sales representative at the Hancock Village location told me she was in charge of this chaotic situation. I honestly just want my countertops to be installed. You would think that she would just alleviate this problem so she would no longer hear from us and our builder but instead she blatantly ignores our phone calls and emails to try to resolve the situation. Unfortunately the cabinets and countertop are paid in full since in good faith we thought they were going to deliver both cabinets w/ countertops and good customer service in a time frame that was promised to us. There are way more cabinets company out there that will most likely show you more customer service than Laura at Main Street Cabinets can give.

We hired Main Street Cabinets for a kitchen remodel and installation of wood floors. We were not happy with Main Street's poor customer service. The finish on our wood floors is inconsistent and every effort taken by Main Street Cabinets to repair the floor worsened the problem.
Main Street came two times to fix the floor using one of their general laborers who hand sanded the floor and slopped on MinWax leaving a wood floor that looked very unprofessional with gloppy drips and sloppy brushwork. (see the photos below). They sent a general laborer two more times who said that he would use the same repair method (hand sanding & slopping on MinWax) and that the floor would look the same. All we want is a flooring professional - not a general laborer to fix the problem. At this point, we feel that customer service was nonexistent once they received our money.

after 25 years we decided to redo our kitchen cabinets and floors. We had no idea about the process, but Rodney gave us excellent guidance. He especially prevented us from making bad choices like not having the new cabinets go all the way to the ceiling. Our kitchen looks like a dream kitchen out of a New England home with the white beadboard cabinets and 5" hardwood floors. Excellent craftsmanship all the way around. The attention to detail was superb as I am a very detailed person and expect perfection. We plan to have them redo our bathrooms next summer. I would highly recommend Main Street Cabinets to anyone who wants old world quality and beauty!!

I was not pleased with the level of customer service provided by this company. Phone calls and emails were not returned in a timely manner and sometimes not at all. The project started on March 30, 2015 and on October 24, 2015 final payment was made. Most of the work on this project was completed in a reasonable time frame; however there were issues with the grout and tile on the shower floor that we were unable to resolve. In my opinion the shower needed to be re-grouted and the tile on the shower floor needed to be retiled. Since the issues with the tile on the shower floor were not noted on the punch list Main Street would not address. They applied a solution to the grout, but after one coat there was no improvement and in my opinion a second coat was not going to change anything. After several months we were unable to come to an agreeable resolution to address the issues with the grout. I paid the balance due and hired someone else to come in and regrout the shower and retile the shower floor. I would not recommend this company.

Comment from Main Street Cabinets:
Main Street Cabinets, as advised through the grout manufacturer, applied a solution provided by the grout manufacturer to part of the shower to remedy a grout discoloration. The instructions called for multiple applications. Main Street sent our technician out for the second application and the owner refused to allow our technician to perform work. This matter could have been easily resolved if the owner had of allowed Main Street to perform our duties. This review is not an accurate representation of the situation. Main Street has thousands of extremely satisfied customers and an impressive portfolio at mainstreetcabinets.com.
We just finished a kitchen remodel project and have not been pleased with the customer service we've received from their office and project manager. We came in with a specific design style in mind, specific materials and colors and were not moving the location of any appliances or any of the foot print of our kitchen. We were pleased with the quality of the cabinets and materials and the level of workmanship done by their employees and sub-contractors (except for the flooring people who came at 8 am, looked at our ripped out floor and said it wasn't what they were hired to do, it would "look like a dog pissed on it" and then left).
Our issues were around two main subjects. First, we were slated for a three week project that started the 3rd week of March. It finally was finished the second week of August. Some were due to delays that were their fault, some were not. Either way the project was 4 months overdue, which they still don't seem to view as problematic.
The main problem with them, however, is that we received little if any communication during the remodel. We knew there would be a time in between signing up for it and getting started while cabinets were being constructed but once things were underway we rarely received responses to our email questions. An email thread was set up by the project manager and then we were almost the only ones to ever use it. We went weeks without a word and when we were spoken to it was as if we were annoying and an inconvenience. More times than not, I had to call to ask about a punch list and question when people were coming to do what as opposed to getting that info from the project manager. Unlike the other kitchen remodels I've been through, there was no final walkthrough AFTER the project was finished. There was a walkthrough to make up a final punch list many weeks ago and some of those items took multiple attempts to finish as workers showed up with the wrong materials.
Now that we are done, they are trying to charge us a fee for a flood that happened under our sink after they re-installed our dishwasher and installed a brand new sink and garbage disposal. We were still in the middle of the remodel when this happened. We had to clean up the water ourselves, which went all over the cabinets under our sink and through a small hole between the dishwasher and cabinet to soak into untreated hardwood flooring underneath. We have no idea if that wood is now rotting, molding, buckling or any other thing. They are quibbling with us about a specific part that their plumber used and refuse to understand that re-installation of appliances is part of a remodel and their responsibility. All in all, they were not good at communicating with us during the project, nickel and dime everything, and now blame us for upsetting them with our complaint about this charge. Basically, there are a lot of options in this town and you should save yourself a good deal of drama and hire a different company. The final product was not worth the annoyance.

Comment from Main Street Cabinets:
The part in question is not a part the plumber replaced but a part that was existing in the dishwasher that was dry rotted. The project began on 3/23/15 and was completed around 5/04/15. We replaced a few doors on the cabinetry that was not satisfactory which did take an additional few weeks and we do not consider that replacing a warrantied part as the project not being complete nor preventing a kitchen from being used. We did additional work at the project that was not contracted that the owner was supposed to do to "save money" but the owner did not complete it in a timely manner (nor did they attempt to complete at all) and we did not want to cause delays in the project. We did charge 150.00 for the faulty part on the existing dishwasher. Please know the owner was very happy until they received a bill for 150.00

It is no surprise that this young company has grown from its origins in rural Blackstone, VA to its two new Richmond locations in Chesterfield and Henrico counties. Their ingenuity in coming up with creative ideas for all types of cabinetry and flooring challenges is most impressive and their attention to detail and a flawless execution is wonderful.
They have always been there for me with the right answer, or hard-to-find hinge that the big guys never heard of. They will work with you, no matter what size your project.
Their award-winning kitchen and bathroom cabinetry concepts are abundant at the 2014 Richmond Symphony's Design House.
I have recommended them to many friends and am enjoying their ongoing success story. Get to know them, you'll be happy you did.

Main Street Cabinets did a excellent job on my kitchen renovation. From when I walked threw the door to when the job was complete I felt very comfortable and satisfied with every aspect. Everyone was very courteous and professional from the designer to the Installation team. Weird thing is I went in just for cabinets and countertops only to find out they did everything else I needed as well. Great job and I would definitely recommend you guys to anyone thinking of a kitchen renovation. Oh almost forgot , they also completed my kitchen before I had expected . That was awesome considering I had a little side bet with my husband.
