We chose David Wenchell Architects, because of their experience with historic restoration, to redesign a 19th century rowhouse from a three-family house back to being a single-family home. The house had many original features but a good portion of them were in total disrepair. Mr. Wenchell listened to our goals, studied the space and added a variety of helpful suggestions and possibilities. Mr. Wenchell created a wonderful design and detailed architectural drawings that highlighted the original historic elements and yet presented an updated, workable and comfortable use of the existing space. Mr. Wenchell was informative, communicative, a delight to work with and definitely deserves a five-star rating. We heartily recommend using David Wenchell Architects for your project. Dave helped us build our dream home. He’s a pleasure to work with and knowledgeable about FEMA requirements. He helped guide our vision and gave us new ideas throughout the process. Couldn’t be happier with how our home came together. I highly recommend David. He has excellent attention to detail and takes the time to listen to your vision of the project. Extremely happy with Dave’s eye for melding old with new seamlessly. We had a large list of wants and Dave helped us to prioritize our must haves to stay within our budget. He additionally recommended several builders all of which spoke highly of Dave’s work and were responsive to our inquiries. Ultimately we opened up our first floor with a complete kitchen remodel and went with Dave’s cabinet layout from our initial drafts, added a moderate addition to the first floor replacing a 3 season porch and remodeled a large second floor dormer into a master suite complete with office nook, gorgeous master bath and his and her walk-in closets. We are grateful for choosing Dave for our architectural needs and would recommend for any project big or small!

David was awesome. He took time to understand what we were envisioning and worked with us to get it all in the design. Then followed up with us multiple times during the construction period to see if we were happy. Great guy and would definitely do this again with his help!!

We had an amazing experience with David and ended up with a renovation/addition that far exceeded our expectations. Dave was wonderful to work with. We could not be happier with our addition. We expanded our kitchen and added a mud room, sunroom and workshop. The flow of the space is fantastic and the roof lines look perfect. His design added so much character to our home inside and out! It now functions and looks exactly the way we dreamed it would.

For quite a long time we have wanted to renovate out kitchen. We knew the project would be involved and we would have some stumbling blocks due to previous renovations as well as the current placement of the bilco doors, AC unit. oil intake and existing roof lines just to name a few. We met with Dave and immediately felt at ease and that these issues/concerns could be addressed as well as a plan that would fulfill out "wish list". Dave was wonderful at reviewing and discussing the plan as well as offering options/solutions to an areas we wanted to change/add/or tweak to make it ours. Once the plan was on paper it was easy with Dave's expertise to assess the functionality of the layout and detail work. he was easy to talk to, receptive to new ideas and not offended if we did not approve of an idea he presented.This made for a very comfortable working relationship. Not only did Dave work really well with us and our requests , he worked equally as well with our contractor. Dave provided the plans and information in agreement with the contractor's requests. He was flexible with meeting times which were difficult to schedule among us due to my variable work schedule.This made for the best of all worlds and our kitchen, bathroom and pantry closet have far exceeded our wildest dreams and ideas. Working with David on our house addition was incredible. When people visit our home...they are amazed that we put an addition on because it blends so well with our original home design. I had a whole new and beautiful house when David finished. We added about 600 sq. feet and a large 2 car garage with a attic with wonderful storage. We worked with David's ideals and ours, and everything came out perfect. Whole new kitchen added on to the already large family room, beautiful huge granite counter top and a window seat to fit a table and chairs to fit 6 people. Large dinning room New master suite,beautiful bathroom and a large walk in closet.

Our firm recently recruited D W Architects to design an addition for one of our clients. They desired to expand and renovate an existing kitchen and add a pantry, mudroom, and bathroom. The original house was choppy and unbalanced due to the poor design of previous additions by others and David, through his experience and creative design skills, created a design that not only seamlessly incorporated the new addition into the house but also created a balance of all the other odd architectural details that existed from previous alterations to the residence. Our experience with D W Architects was very professional and of a high caliber. Not only was David readily available to our firm as well as the client during the design process, he was very receptive of the clients wants and desires for the finished design of the project. In addition, he remained available throughout the construction project to answer questions and aid with any changes that were made. We had Dave design our dream home in VT. The layout was perfect being able to see different views of the lake and mountains. The attention to details from windows to bump outs was spectacular.

I contracted David's services to design and develop a stand alone professional office building to be used for a dental practice.....It was a year long project involving site evaluation, original building design, internal layout and floor plan and monitoring construction throughout...
