We bought our house from an elderly couple who’d kept it well-maintained; however, it needed updating. Our desires included replacing the carpets with wood-flooring; replacing the flooring in all bathrooms and kitchen with tiles and modifying both the kitchen and master bathrooms. We had never undertaken a major renovation like this and went into this endeavor with trepidation. We knew we wanted multiple bids and had them from three contractors, including from California Construction. All three bids were close to one another; however, only California Construction seemed to want to work for us: they were the most responsive and would answer any question we had almost immediately. They came over many times during the initial inquiry to review what we wanted and offer suggestions. We weren’t sure if their responsiveness would change after we signed the project agreement, but we were pleased to find it didn’t. Their subcontractors were ones they had previously worked with and we found them all to be friendly, courteous, timely, and conscientious to clean up before they left for the day. To ensure they finish the project in a timely manner, they asked us if they could work on Saturdays, which was okay with us. Of course, as with any large project, there are likely to be some missteps. Every misstep was reworked without question and at no cost to us! As the project progressed, we asked for some additions and/or changes; every addition or change we requested was considered and quoted without hesitation. The overall experience with California Construction was positive and we highly recommend them for your next home remodeling project. We received many compliments on our remodeled home and we are very pleased with the results.

I hired Art and California Construction for complex backyard project consisting of a pool, Cabana, flatwork, BBQ, landscape and Bocce ball court. The job was done professionally, within schedule and within our budget. We had an issue with a subcontractor that was resolved quickly and rectified to our satisfaction. We were looking for contractor to build us a pool. We found California Constrution Company through a friend who highly recommended them. Art met with us to discuss our needs but to be honest we didn't know where to start or what we envisioned. Art asked us questions based on our property size to get the idea flowing: resort feel, beach, tropical, palms, waterfall, slide, rocks, etcetera (what was the focal point). With the little bit of information we gave him, he stepped us through the vision in our backyard; we got the picture. The idea became clearer when the drawings were completed. Even though we made a couple of minor adjustments, the concept evolved thanks to Art. So many choices. Just when we thought there were no more choices to be made, we had to make more, down to the pool mosaics. Don't get me wrong, we're glad we made the choices and not just told this is what we're getting. In the end, we received what we asked for. We get many compliments about our pool. Thanks Art!
