Rick O's Construction and Remodeling

I had Rick O come to my house for an estimate that was going to be in the 5k to 6k range. Back of house new siding, gutters replaced, painting etc. he looked at everything and told me before even knowing what other estimators had given me for pricing, that he already knew he would be higher than them? How did he know that? Then he sat with me and told me he would get an estimate back to me within 2 weeks. This was about 5 weeks ago. I would never hire him.

March 2019 RICK O’S REMODELING 3018 B Hwy 146 Seabrook, Texas 77586 It has been a pleasure working with Rick O’s Remodeling. We remodeled our kitchen and master bathroom. Our kitchen renovations included new custom, all wood, stained cabinets, new tile and backsplash, granite countertops, new paint for the walls and ceiling, rewiring electric outlets, removing and replacing lighting and installing new kitchen appliances. Basically, Rick took our kitchen down to the sheetrock and created a beautiful, brand new, better functioning kitchen. Our bathroom was also renovated. We wanted a larger soaker tub in place of our current tub area that had a separate shower. When we had problems with the tub area design features, Rick was always available to find a solution to make our dream bathroom become a reality. Renovations for our bathroom included new custom, all wood cabinets, new paint, a new six foot soaker tub with rain shower features, granite, tile, lightning, and new mirrors. Rick was able to take our ideas and give us a new spa-like master bath. I value good communications and work ethics. Rick always let us know when the different areas were going to be worked on and who would be coming into our home to work on each area. All the workers [cabinetmakers, electricians, painters, tilers, and plumbers] were extremely professional and courteous. Rick came to our house almost every day to check on the progress of each area. Rick also would text me daily to let me know what time people would be at my home. We highly recommend Rick O’s Remodeling for any remodeling you may need for your home. Thanks to Rick O and his team for an outstanding, complete renovation of our kitchen. Our custom made cabinets are gorgeous and we are in love with our island and floors, Rick stayed in communication with us continually and always returned calls and texts. The job was completed in a timely manner and the crews were respectful...we trusted each crew member even when we were not home. We are so pleased with an exceptional job. We highly recommend Rick for any house remodeling.

In November 2016 Rick redid our master bedroom and bathroom. It is so beautiful. After Harvey, we got on his list, and he completely redid our entire house. New drywall throughout and re-textured floor to ceiling when the painters weren't satisfied with the matching. All new floors, new doors, paint, custom cabinets, granite and back-splash, doors, trim, the works. the house feels brand new. He helped with decisions, provided letters for the insurance company, and got the work done in the time expected. Rick responded quickly to my many, many text messages, and took care of issues. We trusted him and his team to work without us in the home. I highly recommend Rick O's for any remodel you have. If we need more done, we're calling him back.

Work Done: Complete remodel of kitchen. Taking it down to the studs, removing a wall, extending another, and closing up a doorway. All new custom cabinets. Installed a large island. Review: We selected Rick O because he came highly recommended by both the Clear Lake ProSource and Angie’s List and we were not disappointed. We had some ideas of what we wanted when we started, but got a lot of great ideas from Rick’s partner, Beau. We accepted nearly all of his recommendations. All the work done was of the highest quality. The results of each aspect of installation were consistently better than we had even hoped. Rick was able to keep all his subcontractors that he had worked with for years, despite the high demand for contractors for hurricane Harvey recovery work. We had planned the work prior to Harvey. After the hurricane, it delayed the start just a month, but did extend the length of construction due to competing priorities with Harvey by some subcontractors, particularly the cabinetmaker – certainly understandable and out of Rick’s control. The custom cabinets were amazing and worth the wait. During the entire construction, Rick was extremely responsive to any concern that we had. We texted and called frequently and he set up meetings with us prior to certain work to ensure we were all on the same page and nothing got missed. We were very impressed by every subcontractor that Rick had working on our job. They were all very professional and did quality work. The subcontractors made a lot of effort to minimize the mess in the house. Of course, there was the inevitable layer of construction dust on everything, but Rick provided a cleaning service at the end of the job. The only negative that I have is the length of time and lack of communication related to the quote in the beginning. They provide an extremely thorough quote, which gave us a lot of confidence in the price. However, we did not receive the quote (or an update to the quote when we had changes) in a timely fashion. Also, once we committed, there could have been more communication about when the job would start and when we had to make each selection (tile, granite, plumbing hardware, etc.), so some of this was done at the last minute. It all worked out, though, and once the job started, the communication and responsiveness increased exponentially. Rick’s estimate was actually somewhat higher than another contractor we were looking at. However, Rick’s estimate was far more thorough and we trusted his numbers more. In the end, Rick’s very detailed estimate was right on. There were no surprises in the final invoice. I had heard so many people talk about unexpected overruns from other contractors and were very please this was not the case with Rick. We would highly recommend Rick O’s and will definitely use him again in the future for other projects.
