I worked with Tonya/Crystal who helped me select items that added a personal touch to my home. It was also great to work with my project manager, Wayne! For my first time using a construction company, everything turned out better than I imagined. Nahum will give you the clarity you need for your next design or project. I think it is helpful to have experts in the industry who can help customers manage expectations. After reading the other reviews, I must've lucked out. It helped that I was not living in my house when all the work was underway. I would call them in an instant.

We love our new kitchen remodel. Sturdevant addressed our concerns in a timely matter. We highly recommend them. We are ready for our next phase of remodel!

We had our kitchen renovated and a cement patio installed. We also had some exterior wood replaced and French doors installed. Sturdevant was able to address our concerns as they arose. We love our new kitchen!

Nahum came up with a wonderful design for our bathroom and then we needed help in our old den and he came up with a complete redesign on the room adding build in bookshelves and a fireplace, everyone who has seen it loves it and can not believe the change.

Sturdevant designed and installed a front porch addition that has completely transformed our home. We consulted with Nahum and he came up with a design that we absolutely could not resist. We sat with him during the design phase and he made changes while we watched and was patient with our additional requests. Daniel, the gentleman who did a great deal of the work on our project was very professional and knowledgeable. Overall, we are very pleased with the outcome.

About a year ago my house was destroyed by fire. I have been in construction all my life but because of my advanced age I am not able to rebuild my house my self. I choose Sturdevant because my friend had used them for his home build. It has been the best decision I could have made for a complete rebuild. They have worked daily to help remove the great stress of rebuilding a destroyed house. The entire team has been a joy to work with. The workmanship in every case is greater than I could expect. They push through all the problems that come up, to move the project forward. They respond quickly to my many questions, and remain flexible to make any changes I would like to make. I do not have the words to fully express how happy I am with Nahum and his entire team. I wish I could name them all but they know who they are.

When I sold my home in 2014 I used Sturdevant Construction to do all the necessary repairs and upgrades to satisfy the new owners. Everything was done in a timely manner allowing us to close the sale on time. I regretted not doing this years ago so I could've appreciated their work as I'm sure the new owners have.

We had 3 bedrooms added to our house. 2 downstairs and one up. They were able to complete 80% of the work without having to open into the rest of the house. This allowed us to carry on normal living through the majority of the work. The bedrooms are very beautiful with the fine trim work. They turned out better than I had imagined. During the project the work crew were respectful and very accommodating so that we could continue our work with our seniors throughout the whole construction process. We are thrilled with the end result and enjoyed the construction process. We strongly recommend Sturdevant for your construction needs.

I had wanted to do a complete remodel of our 2nd floor -- including two bathrooms, ripping out closets and creating a loft area. I had been thinking about the project for 10 years, and looking for contractors for about 3 years, even paying one contractor for a design but not ultimately hiring them because I thought the price was way out of line. I then went to a Williamsburg Home Show at William & Mary so that I could talk to several contractors at once and then schedule further meetings. Sturdevant was the ONLY contractor that I met with who actually listened and drew up plans that delivered what I asked for. Other contractors drew up plans for what THEY wanted. Don't get me wrong, I liked and took suggestions from Naham, but I could not stand how several other contractors started off with their own ideas rather than what I wanted (and had been thinking about for 10 years.) Sturdevant was the only contractor from whom I got "warm fuzzies" throughout the project. The project manager, Paul, was excellent; the workers were excellent, and the work done was almost perfect (and where it wasn't, they came back and fixed it to my satisfaction). And Sturdevant's pricing was more in line with what I thought the project should cost than the other companies that I had gotten bids from. I am going to use them again for "phase II" of our remodeling effort. Could not have been happier!

I've work worked with Sturdevant on a number of remodeling jobs. Shane and Crystal are always great to work with.

We had the desire to somehow repurpose the space and increase storage in our kitchen/dining room. We had an idea, but Naham came up with plans that blew our minds. We removed a wall and opened up our kitchen/dining area into our living room. Sturdevant also remodeled a small, unused, screen and glass porch into a beautiful space we are already enjoying, even in the 90+ degree weather. They made a window seat design that I drew up myself come to life in a downstairs room. Were there snags along the way? Yes. Changes? Delays? Yes, but to expect none in a project of this size would have been unrealistic. Project manager, JR, was the bomb and did a fantastic job managing our remodel (he's also the one who made my window seat a reality!). Everyone we dealt with was just terrific. Best of all? There is not one single thing we aren't absolutely thrilled with! Thank you, Sturdevant Construction, for our incredible, over the top "new" home!

The plans presented to us were great! That's where the great experience ended. Our project consisted of a kitchen and master bath/closet renovation. We selected Sturdevant based on design & ability to complete the project in 2 1/2 months, in time for our daughters Sept wedding. Should have backed out when they called to delay beginning by a week, still promised to be complete by Sept. Demo went smoothly, no surprises found. Cabinets were not ordered when final selection made, delay #1. When cabinets arrived some were not correct size, others not as ordered, delay #2. Kitchen floor refinished, unacceptable job. Redone twice by same person, still unacceptable. 2nd person steps in still bad, they agree to try again & never finish. 3rd person finally got them right, delay #3. Replacement bath cabinets arrive, color doesn't match 1st cabinets, delay #4. Oh, by this time we have missed completion date, wedding takes place we are not in our house! While they are only having someone work nights & weekends (sometimes!). We are still out for Thanksgiving & Christmas, yes project started mid June 2015! While bath cabinets are being installed, yet again, we notice floor grout crumbling. Hasn't even been used! Floor grout must be removed and regrouted, delay #5. While most every item was corrected we could never recommend Sturdevant Construction. A projected 2 1/2 month project finally ended 9 months later. It was truly a nightmare for us!

Sturdevant Construction is an exceptional company. They replaced my windows and siding. Not only did they spend a lot of time educating me on the materials and process, they showed me ways to get rebates and save money. I am impressed with their quick service and superior quality that they provide. The price that was quoted was the price to get the job done. I highly recommend Sturdevant construction.

We had our garage converted into a master bedroom and also we remodeled a bathroom. They did a great job and we love the results. Everyone we worked with was courteous and professional. We especially loved the custom tile work. Our project manager, Tyler, was a pleasure to work with.
