One New Creation

Earlier this year, Mario and his team at One New Creation finished a full renovation on a shotgun double in New Orleans. This was an extensive project that took over a year to complete. It involved extensive repairs and remodeling to all systems of the house: carpentry, roofing, foundation work, reducing chimneys, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and completely remodeling a kitchen. To add to the complexity, this was all supervised remotely, via FaceTime and periodic visits, from my current home in Boston. Bottom line is that Mario’s work was impeccable. I was kept fully informed of the progress of the project. When inevitable unpleasant surprises involving rot and age occurred, Mario was straightforward in addressing it. His suggestions regarding both style and substance decisions was always useful. His attention to period detail in an old house was excellent. Minor snafus involving subcontractors were always solved effectively. Last but not least, the punch list items were all addressed with the same promptness as work at the beginning of the project. We have since stayed at our new home for a week. Everything was as we expected. I cannot recommend Mario and his company more highly. I have been a homeowner since 1992. This is easily the best contracting experience I have ever had.

Of all the remodeling projects we have done; (3 houses, 9 projects from $50,000 to $600,000), our interaction and collaboration with One New Creation (for 2 projects in New Orleans) was the most satisfying and exceeded our expectations. He is easy to work with, pays attention to detail, is efficient, cost conscious, pursues perfection and achieves excellence in the final product. He has a core of 8-14 young men who work together well and all contribute to a terrific outcome. They are easily a Google 5 star, and if Michelin reviewed more than restaurants all over the world, One New Creation would be their highest designation, 3 star, as well.

I have used Mario for two different renovation projects. The first one shortly after we bought our house to do a major update to the master bedroom and bathroom. This was finished a little over 6 years ago and I still feel like I'm going into a spa anytime I go into our master bath. After such a good experience with the first renovation, we went back to Mario a few years later when we were ready to convert our home from a double to a single. This work went through COVID and Ida and with all of the twists and turns you'd expect in a major renovation project. Our 100+ year old house had major issues with the foundation that needed to be dealt with. There were leaks that were allowing for long term water damage. All of this was communicated and we worked on a plan to get through the challenges together. When there was a major mismeasurement done on the architectural plans, Mario was able to figure out a way to continue the project without any significant impact on the timeline or budget. Mario's teams are always highly professional and you feel like they're treating your property with the respect they would give their own. One thing that they particularly excel at is carpentry and creatively preserving the character of an old home. The wood work that his team does is highly exact so the quality of new additions match what is already in the house. And when we did our bathroom, we were surprised to find that Mario's team had taken some of the old flooring that we thought was being discarded and used it to create a beautiful trim around the bathtub. They surprised us with something similar when we needed floating shelves in the second renovation and they took the treads from the stairs (we had installed new stairs) and turned them into shelves. It's really touches like these that show the attention to detail that's being given to the work. I would highly recommend Mario to anyone looking to do a renovation, big or small (and have many times).

Contractor was superior in project management, daily hands-on review of progress, all labors were courteous, listened to any concerns and daily picked up all trash, and stored all equipment. They made this a less stressful experience. I highly recommend them higly for professional job.

Wonderful, great skillful contractors, estimate next day and job completion day after estimate. Completely cleaned up when finished. broken back door working perfectly now and looks great.

Mario remodeled our home after Ida damaged a large portion of it. He did an incredible job, and is very professional and pays attention to the details! We contacted Mario to fix the Ida damage because he redid a rental house for us a few years ago and did a great job. I would highly recommend him and his company. He is always responsive and gives great input when you’re unsure about any part of the process. I will continue to use One New Creation for any home repairs or remodeling and I always refer him to anyone looking for a reliable contractor.
