Our house is 24 years old, our forever home and so the kitchen needed to be redone. The existing was basically functional builder grade dark granite, honey oak cabinets, stepped up counter top etc..you get the picture. The floor plan needed redoing to expand the working space, accessibility and esthetic update. Two years ago, our large Master Bath was done by A+ Home Services. Jon Almgren's expert team, headed by very experienced Polo Rivera and his crew, did a fabulous job. This was not easy, lots of moving parts, digging into the cement slab, putting the puzzle back together. The result is SPECTACULAR! As with that project, I had done lots of research and pretty much had decided on what to do in the kitchen. My budget was smaller that my appetite, of course. I liked 75% of my existing kitchen and so decided to remove what I didn't like, paint the existing boxes, new doors, build new large island and build new cabinetry where necessary. The cabinetry was tricky but handled expertly by Mike de Lambert of Design & Build, who regularly teams up with Jon for these types of projects. This was a big financial commitment, so I needed reassurance along the way. Mostly, i appreciated the considerate discussions of my good and bad ideas and how best to achieve what I wanted. The project was done with as little disruption as possible, good communication about work schedules, good daily cleanup when day was done. I can't imagine how it could have gone any better. The result again is SPECTACULAR! It's exactly what I wanted. The new layout functions so much better. It's more open to get in and out, it's brighter, the open shelves give me a spot to decorate with my treasures. It's updated but fits into the decor of the adjoining great-room just beautifully. Every day I look at it and appreciate how lucky I am to have such a great kitchen. I'm extremely grateful to all these talented, professional and wonderful people who made it happen.
