For last last few years, I’ve been restoring and rehabbing (while residing in) my 1923 home located just a few blocks from B-E on Collingwood. It features Art&Crafts details with lots of woodwork, zinc-camed leadlight windows, and wooden double hung windows. I’ve kept to traditional methods and design, particularly with the windows, especially on the front of the house, since I simply can’t imagine replacing wood of this age and quality with modern manufactured materials. I began restoring the double hung windows to original functionality, and fabricating new sashes, storm windows and wooden screens from scratch where needed. I also fabricate and restore leadlight casment windows in both lead and zinc, and am moving towards working more in stained glass. As might be expected, I’ve gathered quite a lot of experience, knowledge, vendors and resources in these old techniques.
